Fortunately for me I live in a beautiful place about 30 minutes from Portland, OR. This means that i have mountains, rivers, lakes, a large city, and the beach all within a two hour drive. The only problem I find when choosing a location is that there is to many… what a tragedy. This post is going to highlight some of my favorite locations I’ve shot over the years.
- Columbia river gorge
This is my all time favorite place to shoot! I went to high school here and the amount of hidden gems and locations out there is unbelievable. From the bridge of the gods to the 4 million waterfalls all around it pretty much speaks for itself.
- Portland
I’ll be a little more specific since I’m sure a lot of you are familiar. The first place is Pittock Mansion, a museum/house that overlooks Portland. It’s got fantastic views and a big old house to shoot at. Another is behind music millennium. It’s a hidden gem with a huge colorful mural on the backside. I did my first ever paid shoot there!
- The beaches of Vancouver, WA
The beaches along the Columbia river are probably my most shot spots. Its always easy to go there and quick when I don’t have a lot of time. Don’t get me wrong, I shoot here all of the time for a reason. There is about 10 different spots and they are all beautiful!
